Hi guys, I am still struggling with the post trigger point injection pain more than I have ever before and I am getting to a point that all I want to do is sleep. I have not taken the heater pack off my neck for the last 4 days and sleep has been very disrupted. I have never taken so many pain killers in the 10 years of having fibro. I feel like crying!

@A MyFibroTeam Member I have been having them for 8 years now and rarely - if ever have such a bad reaction. Please dont let this worry you. My pain prof who does the shots for me encourages me to take anti-infammatories for a couple of days before hand if I am nervous as that is essentially what they trying to do with the injections is to create an inflammatory response in order to heal the other inflammation. So anti-inflammatories will reduce the reaction.
You need to keep hydrated this will lessen the pain.

Yes I have done it for quite a few years. The specialist normally gave me a pain injection at the end. I used to be in extra pain for around 10 days, felt a little relief for maybe another 10 days then it was back to "normal" pain. I stopped at least 7 years ago and don't really feel any difference but.. like you know we all experience this stupid decease differently. Strongs
@A MyFibroTeam Member no - it was local anesthetic and magnesium. Never heard of the ones you mentioned. I'm still struggling but ever so slowly getting better.
