Hip Bursitis
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Sorry to ask another question so soon after last one but am going through extremely difficult time for last 2 plus months.... Want to ask has anyone had hip Bursitis? If so how long did it take to heal? I can deal w back pain, head pain etc but something about this Hip Pain which goes down my left leg, glute and outer hip is SO depressing! I'm in PT and ice etc just never been through this! Recently had a major loss too which makes everything Worse! Thanks everyone for listening ❤️😍L

I have had this for 3 years off and on. I have been going to a physical therapist and doing a lot of stretching and felt good for about a month.
i am in a flare right now with severe hip pain its terrible hoping to see an ortho doctor next week to make sure there isn't a tear in the muscle or something.
i really think its Fibro crap! sucks. my therapist says its called an inflamed TFL or hip flexor muscle.

I have had burcitus in my hips for almost 30 years. It comes + it goes. I would suggest Cortisone injections. They were very helpful for me.

Mine comes in cycles. I have having a doctor about it and we've done the therapy and the shots. He said he could do surgery but he said it's really doesn't solve it.

When it's hurting it seems worse since for my sleep since I can't sleep on my side and I can't sleep on my front so it makes it hard to get restful sleep.

Ice helps that's what I've done in the past.

Please don't apologize for asking another question. That is what we're here for.

Most times I just deal with it with the rest of the pain.

Also if the bursa is causing damage to the hip it can be removed surgically by the Orthopedic surgeon.
