How Many Of You Use Music To Manage Your Pain?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

It was one of those days that go on forever. The pain hangs on you like a heavy drape. When you have used all your nornal remedies and yet you suffer. None of your fall back distractions are offering much relief
I went to music for escape. I made a playlist of my life
The song my father used to sing to me as a child.
The music that was playing when i first kissed a boy..
The country western music when i took a line dancing class. The memories unfolded snd the pain drifted off like a lifting… read more

My husband and I have several DVD's with concerts of groups from the 60's with music we love. We both feel good while playing them as it takes our minds off of our pain due to our medical issues. We have a BeeGees, Frankie Vallie, Beach Boys etc. These give us a reason to smile and sing along with them. They were worth every penny. Music is wonderful. We also can listen to music on UTube with headsets on our electronic devices when we are doing different things at different times. We also have a lot of music cd's with the music we grew up with. It definitely helps us "get away" for awhile and forget the pain as it is great to get our minds off of it.

Music sometimes does help me because it takes the focus off your pain. That doesn't mean to say the pain goes away, but focusing on something else does lessen it a bit. I do art crafts, like make greeting cards, do art journaling, sew quilt tops, sewing projects when I can. I crochet and color in made for adult coloring books. It is very calming. Sometimes when I'm coloring trying to stay in the lines I think man I used to be a top-notch Admin working for CEO's, Pres. & VP's & CFO's, typing 75 wpm and here I'm struggling to stay in the lines of a coloring book. It is very humbling. 😞

If you can get a hot tub, get one. If you have a hospital near you that has a fitness center, see if they have a hot tub. The heat and the jets really help with muscle pain, joint pain nerve pain.
