I'm going on a trip next month. It will be snowing and I'm concerned about how my body will react while there. I'm having a hard time already with the cold. So I'm nervous about being in such cold weather. Any advice? I've never been to the snow
Hi, Sam here.
I lived in Winnipeg for 12yrs and was developing symptoms as I was in my last 2yrs.
Winnipeg is the hottest and coldest place in Canada π¨π¦. Temps reach -46C and +40C and I experienced both!
The tip is in winter dress in layers and lots of them. You will need long underwear but don't buy them here...get them when you get to your destination, wherever that is. If it happens to be Canada then Walmart is best, cheap and cozy. You need full bottoms and long sleeve top also then tight fitting leggings and long sleeve polo neck then warm jogging set and a 3 in 1 jacket good to at least -50C or more.
Big fleece hat and ear warmers, mittens and serious snow boots. You might be able to rent the outdoor stuff like the jacket and snow boots but the rest is necessary. Layers is key! And yes sunglasses are absolutely important π.
Keep layered up and your body should be fine. Don't drink too much and lots of rest. When indoors keep warm. And I would keep close to you routine and hopefully everything should be fine π₯°β₯οΈ. Let me know where you are going and how your trip goes xx
Have fun! There are little instant hand warmers you can get to keep in each pocket. Sunglasses because there's glare when there's snow.
My husband and son are snow skiers. I used to be. Anyhow get some wool socks. Heavy coat, hat and gloves thats waterproof. Wear long johns under clothes and layer clothing over them so you can take off if too warm. Have fun!!
Definitely wear warm clothes especially if you are planning to spend time outside. Wear layers in case you get too warm you can take things off. Ex Under shirt, leggings, shirt and pants, two pair of socks or a pair of wool socks. Coat, scarf, gloves and a hat and boots. This should keep you warm if uour outside for any length of time. OR if you have s ski outfit or a snow suit. You may not need everything.
@A MyFibroTeam Member Thanks for your reply. I'll definitely do my best to stay warm.
