Members responding to a question about intensely sore, burning tongue symptoms shared a wide range of potential causes and experiences, including side effects from medications like inhalers and pregabalin, oral thrush or yeast infections, dry mouth, and autoimmune conditions such as Sjogren's disease and Burning Mouth Syndrome. Several members recommended seeing an ENT specialist for proper diagnosis, checking with a doctor about medication side effects, and watching for white patches that could indicate a yeast infection. A recurring theme was the importance of not dismissing persistent oral symptoms as just another fibromyalgia complaint, as they may have treatable underlying causes.

I was diagnosed with Burning Mouth Syndrome. It feels like you’ve scalded your tongue & the entire inside of your mouth. Can’t taste anything when it flares up.
I was diagnosed by an ear, nose & throat specialist!

Nita🌷, it could be, I just know some meds can do it. I would check with your doctor. If it causes dry mouth, could effect tongue. See what dr says. I hope you get some relief soon. Sending you healing hugs🦋🌷🦋, Deb
