@A MyFibroTeam Member yes, I did. My case was strong but didn't want to chance it. I had a lawyer who only got paid if my disability was approved.
That's what I'm afraid of. I am so sorry to hear that. I literally feel your pain.
Been trying for over 4 years. Just emailed every politician in my state and the president! I'm tired of people not believing in this illness! I won't stop until our voices are heard!
I got it after a couple years and a court date with a lawyer. My lawyer only got paid if I got approved so she was very good!
What @A MyFibroTeam Member said. I received my disability for chronic migraines. I was getting 25 plus migraines every month for a long time. But my disability lawyer said put everything on there as much as you can pile on. So even though fibro was not on the list and IC was not on the list I added everything I could that I had total.
This was in 1999. I know things have changed since then
I worked for an attorney that handled disability cases very often. When people first started trying to get disability for fibromyalgia, they were usually turned down. At that time, fibromyalgia wasn’t recognized as a real illness and their claim for disability was denied. I worked for this attorney for 25 years and The last 5 years I worked , I noted that fibromyalgia was starting to be recognized as a true illness and more and more people were granted their disability for fibro. I would not apply for disability without an attorney familiar with how the disability system works.
SharonCW, did you have to use a lawyer?
