Members connected over the frustrating and expensive challenge of managing dry eyes, with many describing symptoms like excessive tearing, stinging, blinking, and double vision that disrupt daily life. Several members found relief through tear duct plugs combined with Restasis eye drops, though the cost of Restasis was a major concern, with members sharing strategies like using insurance coverage, ordering three-month supplies for savings, or exploring Canadian pharmacies as alternatives. A recurring theme was the importance of prior authorization through a doctor, maximizing each dose beyond the single-use instructions, and holding onto hope that an effective treatment exists even when insurance and cost create barriers.

I must have worded my comment wrong.

I am ordering online through the pharmacy of my insurance since it is cheaper that way. I fill out the form and they contact my doctor after which they wil proces it.

I called my doctor to alert they will be calling so the pharmacy can process the order. @A MyFibroTeam Member

@A MyFibroTeam Member, RESTASIS needs to have Prior authorization, your doctor does that, not you.

Just called my insurance and they now cover it. If I get it for three months which they allow it will be a bit less. It is more than my regular medicine but will figure it out and give it a try. So will pull money together from here and there and pay it. I just need to get the info from my eye doctor so I can fill in the online form. I am how do I put it just excited and happy at the same time. No, the better word is I have hope that there is something that can stop my eyes from blinking so much you would think I am talking in morse code by blinking. Crossing fingers that this helps.

Hubby just suggested I call my cousin in Canada who is a pharmacist to see how much it is there and how to go about doing that. I had not thought of that and not sure if it is doable but hey, a person can ask, right?
