Question About Covid Vaccine
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have read a few stories about people with fibro who have had covid and are now struggling to recover. I would like to ask whether anyone as of yet has had the covid vaccine and what effects it has had on you. I have made a conscious decision not to have the vaccine at the moment but would like to see who has had the vaccine and whether it has affected them in any way. Thanks in advance.

Ugh. Jeez. How are you feeling now? I read today that the antibodies from the second shot only last a few months!!! I might not even get it if that's actually true.

actually calling the first shot a "booster" is incorrect,, both shots are identical ,, the first shot will boost the response if that is what you mean

My husband got the first shot last week. His arm was sore for 2 days but only the arm where the shot was done. He forgot to massage the area after getting the shot so he thinks thats the reason for the soreness. But as far as side effects, the first shot is only a booster, so its not even the actual COVID vaccine yet. The 2nd shot is the real deal. So you’re really not procted yet until you get the 2nd shot, which I can’t about side effects since hubby hasn’t gotten it yet.

Hi there, i feel the same way as you, i want a Vaccine from this dreadful virus, but frightened of it making me so ill, i cannot take Medication,as i have so many side affects, my Blood Pressure is very high, 200 over 80, i am on a small does of medication for this, tried loads of meds, could hardly walk or get my breath, so was told to keep off them, so i have to manage on a small dose, i am not sleeping properly as i am worrying, i am self isolating, and it all gets you down, hope that we can have the Vaccine without much trouble, there is knowone to ask about this, only people with Fibro have the answer. Hugs to all.

newfibro,, i have a friend who is a doctor who had the same reaction to the second shot as you describe, i think the calculation is something like 70% of people will have some sort of reaction to the second shot be it fever, aches, chills etc,, sounds like you and her were in smaller category that had all of them,, i plan on taking tylenol and my norco if my body had a similar response ,, they say not to treat side effects until you get them because you want the body to react,,, me personally i think im going to hold out for the Johnson and Johnson single dose and take my chances with that one
