Heart Palpitations
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone else have pretty frequent heart palpitations? My PC and cardiologist aren’t worried about them. All heart tests come back normal. I’ve read they can be a part of Fibro. I just feel like lately it’s been happening more than usual. I cannot take any blood pressure medication to help with it because my bp is always on the low side.

I’ve had them for years. My doctors always said it was from anxiety and or fibromyalgia. They got so bad I went to a cardiologist. He did a chemical stress test, he was sure I had a blockage. I was in the hospital a few days later for a heart cath. Thankfully there was not a blockage.....fibro causes so many strange things to happen to our body’s 😟 If your doctor has ruled out any underlying conditions, here is a link that may help

My doctor put me on a betablocker for my heart palpitations.(small dose) But said they were nothing to worry about. I get a lot of them, come in clusters. Then a few days when I dont get many. Most days they are there however, they make me feel light headed sometimes and I have on several occasions almost passed out. .

Would get your Doctor to check on your medications sometimes they can cause heart palpitations.

Also do you suffer from Costochondritis it is when you have pain in your chest, ribcage front and back and sternum sometimes you can have muscular spasms that seem like you are having a heart attack.

Fibromyalgia has so many Symptoms it is hard to keep up with them all.

Hi there, yes I have them through out my day everyday. I’ve had them fir years and went through all kinds of test and it did show a skipped beat several actually but they said if I feel find and texts were negative then not to worry. What helps if when you get them cough hard and your best will go regular. I also don’t focus on them because doctor and specialist all confirmed that they are harmless. I did also have panic disorder years ago and they were worse - yes I do have fibro now for 8 years too. I know it’s hard to ignore them but help me and hope it helps you.
Happy new year. Dee

My heartbeat gets erratic at times but my doc is not worried about it either. Thinks it has to do with low blood pressure, anxiety and stress.
