Members shared observations about insect bites triggering fibromyalgia flares, with several noting that mosquito bites, chiggers, or other bug bites seemed to coincide with increased body aches, flu-like symptoms, and overall worsening pain. One member explained finding relief with Benadryl, suggesting a possible histamine reaction, while others related similar experiences of itching and tingling spreading beyond the bite sites after yard work or exposure. A recurring theme was the importance of ruling out all possibilities, from screening windows to checking for bed bugs, and recognizing that seemingly small environmental triggers can have a real impact on fibromyalgia symptoms.

If you’re waking up and finding bug bites on your ankles, could be chiggers and you would have to be more careful outside . Also if you’re finding bug bites on your face upon awakening check for bed bugs. I know this sounds gross but you have to check everything with fibromyalgia. My husband thinks I’m paranoid and maybe I am. I’m in constant pain most days. Can’t seem to get a break. It’s always something soI try to wean out all probabilities.😊

Wow. You are not alone. I did yard work on Sunday. I was sore but it wasn’t until Monday night when I started to itch from the mosquito bites on my legs and arms and then the tingling and the itching sensation started on my back and now is traveling to my stomach area. This is new to me. Grrrr
