A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've had a migraine for 5 years all day everyday, i take medication daily as well as having botox injections into my head every 12 weeks.

For the past week my head feels horrible, I feel drunk and I don't drink, i can't stand the smell of it. I'm staggering when walking, walking into things, feel dizzy and it's now starting to make me feel sick.

I will be ringing my GP on Monday, but any help or advice in the meantime would be amazing

Thanks

I have vestibular migraines. I have been helped by the new injections on the market. Believe me, I was desperate. Meds are Aimovig, Ajovy, and Emgality. If you aren't seeing a headache neurologist do so, SOON. Also, I have complications in neck with occipital neuralgia. My dr did a steroid nerve block and I have had few migraines since.
Not everything helps everyone, but this is my story. I pray all the meds continue to work.
Best wishes,

Hi there I live in the uk, and suffered from migraines for about15 years, then my doctor finally diagnosed me, she started me on propranolol 80mg each day and I have separate migraine tablets which I take if I do have an attack, but honestly these have been a god send, they stopped the migraines straight away. What medication do you take? X

I have what is called vestibular migraine. I have had numerous balance tests, several times from neurotologists. For years they called my problem Meniere's disease. They still suspect some component of Menieres, but mainly vestibular migraine.
Please see a headache neurologist. There are several new drugs on the market, both to prevent or to treat migraine headache. It may take awhile, but help is out there. Be patient and keep trying.
Doing better in Texas.

Have you ever been tested for Vertigo? I get migraines, and they are horrible, but I went to a Balance Center, and , although the testing was all day, the Dr. said I have BPPV - which basically
Is Vertigo. I see a Vestibular Physical Therapist, and my Vertigo is so much better. And my migraines are no longer constant, as you described.
Just a thought!
Take care of yourself!
