I have Interstitial cystitis. When my rheumatologist diagnosed me with fibromyalgia, I told him my Obgyn had told me I had Interstitial cystitis, he said a huge percent of those with Fibro have Interstitial cystitis. Something to do with spasms in that area.
For myself, I get a heaviness down there that makes me feel like I have to urinate all the time.😑

Yes and people with fibro are more likely to have interstitial cystitis which is an autoimmune disease and visa versa....those with interstitial cystitis are more likely to develop fibro. Don't be afraid of talking about this with a doctor. Many people have it, and most have gone through the emotional embarrassment too. I have 2 friends that have it. One controls her by diet. It recently flared and she is now seeing a physical therapist to help strengthen her pelvic floor. The other gets bladder washes with a pain med every 6 weeks. She's much older and has had it for a long time. Maybe you should go to a rheumatologist which is who my 2 friends see. Maybe a female one would be easier to talk to about it. Best wishes

Yes I got a pelvical ultrasound, it said I had an ovarian cyst so I went to a gynecologist, he did a transvaginal one and told me I had nothing. It was weird but this doctor was supposed to be one of the best gynecologists in my city so I didn't go to another one.
I get up to pee at night all the time and it's driving me insane, 3-7 times for me so I totally understand.
Regarding amytriptiline, I still take it because I'm more afraid of how I could feel if I don't take it, because of the side effects. I would say it's not good for fibro. Have you ever got injections directly where it hurts the most for you? Once I got antiinflammatories injections on my back and my neck and it's the only time I can recall that I felt relief. I don't do it anymore because I can't afford it but I would totally recommend it. :)

Maybe you need to see a GYN and ask about vulvadynia. I was referred to a wonderful Dr at U of M. She spexialized in this condition. I was startes on a plan to help reduce symptoms. There is no cure. It helps tremendously, but i so have a flare once in a while. I can rexommend “The V Book” if you want to explore for yourself. Unfortunately my Dr retired, nut i have rhe info
