Can Gabapentin Cause More Pain?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I started gabapentin a few months ago, started at a low dose and have been working my way up (currently 800mg daily). I haven't had any improvement yet and have been flaring horribly almost since starting on it. I'm wondering if the flares are a reaction to the meds and if anyone else has ever experienced this?

Oh I have tried to stop it too because I felt like I was good to go. Nope lesson learned.

For me it seems like a lot. But yes My GF takes 1900 mg a day to deal with MS and her cancer treatments. I don't see how people function on so much. Does it make you really tired or do you feel stoned all the time? I love my GABA but some people don't have much luck with it.

I have been on Gaba for 7 yrs. it works for me great but everyone is different. 800 mg. is a lot and should be helping. I would definitely look into with your doctor and try backing off of it to see if things change. No since in taking something that does not work for you.

No, i used to but it didn't do anything for me so stopped. Had to try and save $$$ so if it didn't help it wasn't worth it. I'm due for more blood tests soon so will ask about my D levels
