I was diagnosed and put on gabapentin. I was advised to start by taking one at night, then one morning and night, then one morning noon and night. I’ve finally built up to the three doses daily but I am still experiencing a reasonable amount of pain AND I feel like I am constantly in a weird medicated fog. I called the doctor today to discuss this and said that I felt the medication I was on for my fibromyalgia wasn’t really doing what I had anticipated - I was still in pain and it’s genuinely… read more
Hi, yes to trying gabapentin and same result as you. I went on LDN and that had zero effect except an unusual response in that my joints hurt (not good with my arthritis).
I tested positive for small fiber neuropathy.
I take Nortriptyline and meloxicam.
I've posted this several times before. While different meds work for different people, please give low dose Naltrexone a try. The tyipcal dose is 4.5 mg. Some people start right at that dose, others start at lower doses and work up until they find what is right for them. One of my friends does really well on 3 mg. You take it at night and it works by stimulating the brain's glial cells to produce endorphins, natural pain killers, and decrease inflammation. Most people experience no side effects. Lots of information now available online, just enter LDN or low dose Naltrexone in a search engine.
Also, if you haven't already, try cutting out or at least cutting back as much as you can on sugar - it is highly inflammatory.

The effects you are describing sound severe....feeling on verge of panic attack isn’t good! A lot of us have sensitivities to some drugs and herbs. I always have an adverse reaction with the very first pill, of a drug or herb that disagrees with me. Personally, I’ve had many doctors say to exercise..never works for me. Very gentlewalking works for me. Maybe find a better doctor?
