I don't really know why. I do not believe I have heard anyone say it worked, but hopefully, someone can help you. It is usually used for colds and allergies (which do appear to make our symptoms worse). But, I do not see it for helping us. The allergies are symptomatic with the progression, but are not the problem. I hope that made some sense to you
