I have been recently diagnosed with both fibromyalgia and trigeminal neuralgia. The latter due to intense facial muscle contraction-like pain. Both the facial pain and numerous typical fibromyalgia symptoms have been bothering me for the past year. I recently had a brain procedure to address the trigeminal neuralgia issue but no facial pain relief so far. Could it be that the facial pain is actually another fibromyalgia symptom?
My supervisors Mom had her trigeminal nerve fixed via Gamma procedure- laser knife and her fibromyalgia went away! She had suffered with fibro for 7 years.
Yes and I’ve had all the neurological test. Just Fibro!! Sometimes I can’t even comb my hair.
Fascinating. The trigeminal nerve procedure I had was gamma knife. It was only a few weeks ago and puportedly it takes 2-6 months in most cases to show relief. It would be grand if it works and alleviates the constant facial pain. Grander still if the fibromyalgia goes away when the facial pain is relieved.

Would say it is more the trigeminal neuralgia that is causing you the most problems with your face.
Than the Fibromyalgia. Would ask your Doctor for a referral to see a Neurosurgeon regarding trigeminal neuralgia symptoms.

It could quite possibly be. I have near constant pain in the left side of my nose and my left cheek. My doctor says it is either migraine related or fibro related but most likely fibro as the facial pain tends to follow the ups and downs of generalized pain for me. Hope you get some relief soon.
