Numb/swollen Sensation On Tongue
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi all

Does anyone ever experience a numb/swollen sensation on the side of their tongue? Its always just one side, sometimes left sometimes right. It's not present when I first wake up but starts to occur as I go about my day. It isnt numb or swollen but just has the sensation of it, if that makes sense!

Thanks !

Yes!!!!! Wow, and it doesn't happen first thing in the morning, but as the day goes on, it starts up.

I used Biotene toothpaste, biotene mouthwash, tried to increase my iron intake by eating iron rich food, drank plenty of water to prevent dryness, avoided spicy or hot food. I did see a dentist just to rule out any infection. Some doctor recommends low dose clonazepam in case symptoms are very bad. Hope you feel better soon!

Thank you! I read it and it sounds like that may be the case. It went away for about two weeks then came back. Its not there in the morning but starts to occur as I go about my day. What did you find helped relieve yours ? It's not painful.. just really annoying

I had it for about a year and experienced it similar ways as you described it. The link offers several ways to relieve the symptoms I found it helpful.

Any little thing I do, can make a bruise. I remember about how I got maybe a third of them, the rest just show up out of the blue.
