Guaifenesin helps some people with their fibromyalgia symptoms because it removes uric acid and phosphate from the body. You can buy Mucinex or the generic of Mucinex or any other cold/respiratory products containing guaifenesin. Guaifenesin has not been approved by the FDA to treat Fibromyalgia so most doctors will not prescribe it off label, but you can still buy it and take it. It definitely works for my Fibromyalgia "burning" sensation.
