Members connected over the shared experience of intense burning and stinging sensations throughout their bodies, including legs, arms, face, tongue, spine, and private areas, with many describing the pain as difficult for others to truly understand. Several members identified the sensation as paresthesia and one member offered a practical suggestion to try over-the-counter medications containing guaifenesin, such as Mucinex, which may help remove uric acid and phosphate from the body and relieve the burning feeling, though it is not FDA-approved for fibromyalgia. A recurring theme was the validation that this symptom is widespread in the community, with members reporting burning sensations in nearly every part of their body and finding comfort in knowing they are not alone.

For the parathesia pain, you can try taking OTC medications that contain the drug guifenisen. Guaifenesin helps some people with their fibromyalgia symptoms because it removes uric acid and phosphate from the body. You can buy Mucinex or the generic of Mucinex or any other cold/respiratory products containing guaifenesin. Guaifenesin has not been approved by the FDA to treat Fibromyalgia so most doctors will not prescribe it off label, but you can still buy it and take it. It definitely works for my Fibromyalgia "burning" sensation.
