Yes. The pain sensation varies constantly and it can come on at any time. Sometimes it is a constant, dull ache in my muscles and other times it feels as if it is bone deep. Then there are times it feels like a broken bone or a sprain. Sometimes it feels like getting zapped by an electrical shock and other times it feels like my skin is scalded. Then there is the bruised pain, as if I've been beat up and I expect to see bruises but there isn't a single mark. There is also the numbness, the tingling, and the itching. All of these are sensations are from our nerves. I just hate it when I am out in public and I have a sudden sharp pain that makes me yelp out loud. People around me are puzzled because they see that something is hurting me, but within 5 minutes or so, I can be fine again. I get alot of varying pain sensations in my feet and they are horrible. I can be sitting quietly watching a movie with a cat on my lap and all the sudden it will feel like a dump truck has rolled over the toes on one foot. Smashed and excruciating pain and it causes me to scream and jerk my leg up so I can grab my foot. It really freaks my cats out because they dont know if they caused my sudden pain & crying or what the hell just happened. It's part of fibro. It can strike at any time. It sucks. Getting comfortable is another weird thing; when I go to bed, everything has to feel just right....how my head lays on the pillow, how the sheet & blanket feel over my body, how the fitted sheet feels under my body. I squirm and move alot before I find that one "right" feeling that will allow me to rest. I think that the princess in the old childhood fable, The Princess & The Pea, that girl had fibromyalgia too. 🌻
