I finally finished wrapping the gifts. This picture doesn’t show all the gifts behind the tree or the rest of the gifts that are under our other tree. Thankfully we decided not to exchange with the 11 people that will be here for Christmas dinner. This year we are only exchanging with our kids and grandson. I will have to rest tomorrow, then clean the house on Christmas Eve day. Then the day after Christmas I know I will be on the couch all day 🙁 Before fibro, all the gifts would have been… read more

Members connected over how fibromyalgia has transformed their holiday traditions, with many describing the need to scale back decorating timelines, limit gatherings, and build in extra rest days that weren't necessary before chronic illness. Several members shared practical adaptations like using paper plates to reduce cleanup, simplifying menus to less labor-intensive meals, asking family to host instead, and spreading decoration tasks across multiple days rather than completing them in one weekend. A recurring theme was the bittersweet balance of wanting to maintain beloved traditions for family while honoring the body's very real limitations, met with encouragement from the community to be proud of what they accomplish and give themselves grace for what they cannot do.

Had to go with paper plates which made me sad. I grew up with beautiful table settings and love to do the same when I got married. I was the only one to set the table and do the dishes, so I had to find a few ways to cut out all of the after work. Still waiting for my kids to host at their houses lol.

My husband and sister in-law both help a lot. My SIL offered to have it at her house, but our house is set up a little better for 10 or more people for dinner. I am doing an easy dinner tomorrow, no turkey. Ham, baked beans, cheesy potatoes (my SIL makes) and biscuits. After this past thanksgiving that I did....I don’t think I will ever make a turkey dinner again. Way too much work
