I decided to do another fun question today because I am in a lot of pain and need some happy time away from thinking about it. What would your dream career be or what would you be if you had magical powers? Obviously this is a dream question and not reality. I know a lot of us can't do many things we want to and it sucks, but it is always fun to dream. If I didn't have fibro I would become a criminologist and work for the police force or the FBI. It is what I went to school for. I get… read more

Members shared what they would pursue if fibromyalgia didn't limit them, with many expressing a longing for physically demanding careers like detective work, law enforcement, dancing, veterinary care, and animal rescue, while others dreamed of creative paths such as performing on Broadway, running hotels, or becoming published writers. Several members found solace in describing jobs they currently love or can still manage, including teaching, working with seniors or special needs adults, running businesses from home, and caring for animals, though many acknowledged the painful reality of watching fibromyalgia steal energy, joy, and the ability to fully engage in work they once thrived in. A recurring theme was the bittersweet balance of dreaming big while grieving lost potential, tempered by gratitude for what they can still do and pride in loved ones who achieved similar goals.

I actually WORK my dream job--I own my own record label and promote country music artists to radio from my home office I've always been a musician but worked a variety of high-stress jobs which didn't do the fibro any good--so I quit and finally started my own business (scary at the least) But since I'm the boss--if the boss says take a nap--I do lol

In the real world? I love being around plants and animals. Probably fit in at a zoo or mini farm. Love colors, could work with plants, bringing vibrancy to an ugly world. Ugly in the sense we get judged on our outside, not on how hard we fight on the inside.

Peace and gentle hugs

Oh, I would love to be the Human Resource Regional Officer on the field and in the office with the chance to present to a group presentations, great recruiting fairs with so many fun things, unfortunately these are 12 hour days and since my body is only good the first 6 hours (maybe) of my day, I will settle with a nice admin or office job that I am still looking for....take care all...this was fun...love work jobs, especially the ones I just dream about
