So my brain seems to have trouble adjusting or acclimating to extreme temperatures, to high altitudes, to extreme emotions happy or sad. Those things can throw my nervous system into scary weirdness for days or weeks. Do any of you experience anything like this?
Anything extreme causes some kind of reaction! My eyes do not adjust very fast to bright light or dark! My body has trouble with cold and hot! It takes forever to adjust to either and sometimes, if it’s too cold or too hot, my body starts going into like a shut down mode. My emotions are extreme, either so happy I cry or so sad I cry. The extremes can affect me by pain, not sleeping, anxiety, fatigue. 😕
Yes it happens to me whenever I have extreme happiness like the birth of two of my great grandsons and the death of my son very unexpectedly. Both cause extreme symptoms that lasted for months. It is a strange condition and one you cannot ignore. It’s like my body says enough and if you don’t stop I will knock you down with extra pain and for me unrelenting migraines.
Oh my goodness JanWelbourn, thank you! You are the first person I jave found to say that extreme emotions, even joy, can send you into a tailspin. I was feeling so alone.
I am finding that I feel the same as you. It is a tough one to get a handle on for sure.
