I was put off work for almost a year ish now but now that I’m diagnosed with fibromyalgia I was told I cannot get any more disability... it has run out and I’m just so scared. I’m 21 I can hardly handle going anywhere. A short 4 hour shift wipes me out for a week and bed ridden. All my doctors I go to tells me I just need to push through it and excersise but I can’t most times. It’s just a accomplishment getting out of bed. I don’t know what else to do. The latest doctor I went to basically told… read more
Hi Zambequinn
Hang in there love, believe it or not things COULD be even worse. The good things that I see from your post is that you have a boyfriend? That means you have someone who loves you, but you know Jesus loves you more. Try reaching out in prayer for his comfort. Join a support group for Fybro sufferers if you can, then you won't feel so alone in this. Keep posting on here we are here to help. Can you see a welfare worker or similar? In the U.K we have a charity called Citizens Advice who have trained advisors who fill in all the necessary paperwork for you to enable you to claim benefits. Sound to me like you need to change doctors also, you NEED a doctor who can empathise and understand. You also need a referral to a Rheumatologist not only for help but more importantly for a written diagnosis of your condition which will enable you to go on to claim disability. Reach out love you are not alone
For what it is worth I believe you and I do not think you are mentally unstable. I am so very sorry you are going through this pain, I to have had days and months of being in bed. I urge you to see an attorney to find out what your laws are as far as long or life time disability and have them file on your behalf . they do not get paid unless you get approved so no out of pocket to you . That will free you up some to take better care of yourself . I urge you to do that as much as you can. you matter and you are important , your health is top priority. Now I understand also as I have fibro and a number of other illness , but the doc is right about one thing as much as you can walk . It is the hardest thing but the best . I have to push myself to sometimes and I want to cry , but also on days that I cant I do not push it I rest. even if it is 3 or 4 days before you can walk that's ok or a week that's ok . Only you know what you can do . You know your body better than anyone. Keep that in mind and don't let anyone tell you diff. I wish you the best moving forward and one more thing I want to say Your beautiful and you got this :) Hope I helped .
File for permenant social securiy disability. Get a good disability lawyer that only gets paid if you win. It is a major and frustrating hassle to try and do it on your own. They will automaticly decline your case. You will appeal at least once maybe more. That is the nature of the process. The courts are granting it for fibromyalgia.
Good luck. You can win!!
Thank you yes I luckily have a supportive family and I am very grateful. I also have a rheumatologist appointment this week!Thank you. Your kind words mean a lot.
Unfortunately I do not know how the welfare works in your country and again it is unfortunate that many doctors do not understand fybro, the only thing I can suggest is for you to show that by going to work is that you would not only be a danger to yourself but everyone else. I know that some doctors just think that we are malingerous. All the best and trust in the Lord.
