Members deeply connected over the frustrating experience of burning, itchy scalp with fibromyalgia, sharing that it often signals a broader flare-up affecting the entire body, and confirming it as a definitive fibro symptom rather than something imaginary. Several members found relief through specific shampoos like Neutrogena T-Gel, T/Sal, Head and Shoulders Itchy Scalp, tea tree oil products, or natural remedies including apple cider vinegar rinses, aloe vera gel, coconut oil, and emu oil, while antihistamines like Benadryl, Claritin, or prescription hydroxyzine helped manage the itching for many. A recurring theme was the emotional relief of knowing they weren't alone or crazy, the importance of gentle hair care practices like avoiding heat styling and washing less frequently, and the need to address underlying triggers such as stress, diet, allergies, and hard water.

Tea tree oil is fantastic. It is also antibacterial.

I have dealt with itchy scalp for some years, changing shampoos constantly My Dr suggested Nizoral and have also tried Shapiro shampoo & conditioner (helps with hair loss more so) I have found what's called Scalp Relief Tea Tree (leave in) which has Tea Tree, Mint & Coconut Oil and love it but can't always find it

Oh yes! It can get really sore. Recently just an innocent ponytail had my poor scalp so sore fro two days after. And yes, I also get the itching now and then.
My main thing is a creepy crawly feeling with some itch. Also a pin prick feeling or mosquito bite feeling.

My scalp often feels really warm, almost hot, especially during a flare up. It is also sensitive to touch at times and I'm very limited as to how long I can put my hair up in a pony tail as it causes a lot of discomfort.
