Does Anyone Have Any Suggestions On How To Make Shower / Bath Time Easier And Not As Exhausting?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have the hardest time taking showers/baths. I have a shower chair but it doesn't seem to change how exausted I am after I get out.

I take mine at night then I can relax for the night. Makes it so much easier to just go to bed.

I use a shower chair and make sure i have plenty of time to recover after having a shower. I often get out of the shower, dry myself and wrap myself in a towel and then go and lay down on my bed to rest so that i have the energy to get dressed. I used to wash my hair with shampoo and conditioner but now only wash it with just conditioner which has meant my hair is not so oily and i dont have to wash it quite so much. I Use lots of conditioner so its easier to do my hair after a shower. At the moment in New Zealand it is winter so i only shave my legs every few weeks.😂 I also am careful what soaps etc i use as my skin can be sensitive. I like quite hot showers but try not to have it so hot now cos i always felt faint. I also turn the water pressure down low in the shower when im having one of those days where my skin hurts. Having a shower before bed can be helpful so that you can just hop into bed and go to sleep. I also always try to ask my partner to be in a room near the bathroom so i can call out if i need help or feel like im going to colapse.
Also i make sure the heater is on so when i get out of the shower i dont get cold (during winter).
No matter what i do though having a shower is always exhausting!!!

Layout everything you will need in your shower and after your shower
Beforehand.
Rest a bit and then take a short shower,
How long can it take to wash "all parts" and rinse before getting out?
Make sure you have a
Safe handrail in your tub or shower. and non slip
mats if you use them.
Then rest again.

Thank you so much, Shellyburcham. That's usually what I do also, but there are times when I need to take one during the day before I go somewhere and I have such a hard time with it. I prefer to take them at night right before bed.
