Members rallied around someone experiencing extreme fatigue and grogginess, sleeping nearly all day and night after developing a cold, with many relating to the debilitating exhaustion that comes with fibromyalgia flares. Several members shared practical next steps including seeing a doctor to rule out sinus infections, walking pneumonia, narcolepsy, or depression, with some mentioning their own experiences being helped by sleep studies, medications like Provigil or Mucinex, and addressing underlying issues like inflammation or thyroid imbalances. A recurring theme was the importance of not dismissing severe fatigue as just another fibro symptom, checking for hidden stressors or life changes that might be triggering a flare, and remembering that not everything is fibromyalgia even when it feels that way.

Most of the time fatigue and brain fog are worse than pain for me. I wish we all had better answers from doctors about these things. You're not alone in this.

Jerri, sounds like a major flare or possibly narcolepsy. I was diagnosed with narcolepsy years ago. Often daytime fatigue is written off as just another fibro symptom but it can progress to narcolepsy. I would check with your doctor. A sleep study with nap study may give you answers. Some changes in my habits along with adding Provigl to my meds brought mine under control.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I know how you feel. Been there this past month. Please remember to keep your meds straight. I didn't and the dizziness of not having my thyroid meds was eye-opening and scary!

LOVE you!

One day at a time Jenni, I'm still not sleeping, early noon my body gets exhausted. I nap for about 2 hours, if lucky. Wake up coughing, I enjoy downpours, breath better. Bad sinusitis and asthma. I might get 4 hours a night, coughing and trying to get comfortable. Sleeping pills don't work for me. FB wrecks havoc on our body. There's no hope for us. Put it in the Lords hand.
