My quality of life is awful. Most days I just want to stay in bed and hide from the world. Mentally, physically and emotionally I’m in turmoil. I’m in CONSTANT pain, my memory is worse now, I am extremely fatigued no matter how much rest I get, I’m always constipated, my low back pain makes it hurt to even stand and wash a few dishes, I can go on and on. I’m so sick of suffering. And because of this turmoil, I’m not beneficial in the workforce :(
Did they label fibromyalgia as your disability?
Yes, i am on disability. I had a career. Then i couldnt understand what was happening to me. I couldnt put one foot in front of the other. I had to leave my job & tried to work part-time. Then i couldnt do that. I ended up in bed for 2 years. My mom came to me, she seen i wasnt getting better, & should file for disability. It wasnt in my realm of thinking. So, find a good dr, who knows what youre going thru. It will take awhile, get a lawyer, & know that you may get rejected at first.
Most importantly, dont stop trying to move your body. Nobody believed in fibro before; my muscles went into atrophy. So, stretch, even if its only a few fingers or toes on a bad day. I hope this helps you. I pray for you. God bless you.
I received SSI total disability, but I had an attorney. It was not for Fibro but for arthritis and five other conditions. I basically can not sit, stand or walk longer than 20 minutes because of pain.
I got my disability first try but I used a lawyer. They seem to get better action. Have everything in line. All Dr notes, X-rays, and any documents they may need. My fibro has been horrible and totally changed my life.
I have all the symptoms you suffer from and want to stay in bed and hide too! I'm praying for you and feel your desperation! Sometimes I can barely stand and especially bend to load the dishwasher. I find myself groaning. I haven't cooked much at all in the past 6 months. I can pop something in the microwave or sometimes make a grilled cheese sandwich. I hardly never go shopping because my low back pain kicks in so fast and I can't hardly do anything except lean on the shopping cart. I've had shots, even Percocet and still couldn't stand for long. I'm so sorry and hope you find something to help. My husband has to do all the shopping and cooking or going to get takeout. We live where no one delivers. Do you have a spouse or partner that can help you out? I could not get approved for disability, but my sister did. And she's able to run around and go shopping, she doesn't cook much, but she babysits her grandkids while her daughter works 5 days a week. She even tried to waterski the other weekend. She said she couldn't get up because she couldn't grip the ropes enough to pull herself up. Everyone is different but you sound so much like me. Hang in there!
