Every morning for the past week or two I've been waking up with thumb pain so intense that it makes me yell/scream when I move it. It's only on my right hand and it gets a bit better during the day, so I must be doing something to it in my sleep, idk what. I wear wrist braces at night for my carpal tunnel syndrome, but they aren't made specifically for thumb support (my thumb brace doesn't provide adequate wrist support, I've tried both together but it doesn't seem to help). Arthritis is in the thumb that’s why you have soo much pain !!! Get a shot in your thumb by your Doctor it helps believe me I had the same problem couldn’t even touch the thumb at all got red !!! Take care Fellow Warrior ❤️N🤗 !!!
I had both wrists done and don't want to do again as you can't put hands in water so no shower couldn't do dishes have no one to care for me. I think left hand has it again so doing exercise for it had pain thumb couldn't sleep in right hand. I THINK ARTHRITIS also had locked fingers. hugs Evelyn
Agree with Vic Chang as had trigger finger and steroid shots helped, don't feel I had good results with carpal tunnel surgery though
A hand specialist can make a nuetral thumb cast that you can sleep in at night or wear during the day if still needed. It puts your thumb back in a nuetral position, I felt relief after just a couple of nights.
For me it's been my elbows lately
