Has anyone had significant hair loss from fibro? I'm losing gobs and gobs and have been for a couple of months. My hair is noticeably thinner. :(

Members connected over the frustrating experience of significant hair loss related to fibromyalgia, with many describing handfuls of hair coming out and noticeably thinning strands over months or even years. Several members shared practical strategies that helped them, including checking thyroid levels and iron deficiency, trying biotin supplements (which one member noted reduced shedding after about two months), and making dietary changes that appeared to support regrowth. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of losing hair on top of managing a relentless disease, balanced with gentle humor and mutual support as members encouraged each other to rule out underlying causes and stay patient with potential solutions.

Have you had your thyroid checked?
Could be from some meds too?

You may be serum iron deficient.
First indication is widening of the parting
Many heart medications cause hair loss as well

Ask your dr before taking, but
I found that using Biotin helped mine shed noticeably less. Not completely but enough. (Everyone different ) Have to be patient as it doesn’t work overnight. I think I noticed it on my 2nd month? Can’t remember.
Hope it helps.

I lost my hair by the handful about 5 months after being diagnosed. It has started filling back in now. It’s been a year since I was diagnosed. I believe that the changes in my diet played a significant role in my hair growing back
