Members shared mixed experiences when asked about functional medicine doctors and chiropractors as alternatives to traditional treatment. Several members found relief through natural supplements, aquatic therapy in warm water, and occasional chiropractic adjustments for chronic pain, though many noted these approaches can be expensive and results often temporary. A recurring theme was that fibromyalgia responds differently in each person, with some therapies like acupuncture causing flares or pain for certain members while others found benefit, leading to the shared wisdom that experimenting carefully within your budget and listening to your own body is key to finding what works.

Aquatic therapy has been amazing for me. I just started last month and so far so good with being able to move through the water and get a little exercise in while feeling better! Maybe see if there's somewhere you could go near you and try it out, it's working better for me than many other therapies I've tried.

I am in physical, occupational, aquatic, and massage therapies to prevent further loss of mobility and to keep what quality of life I haven't already lost.

acupuncture didn't work for me because the needles caused too much pain. I'm seeing a chiropractor every second week and for me it helped at least with my nack pain.

Better to see a regular GP for medication that helps you be honest if something isn't working for you, or the dosages are way too high and your feeling like a Zombie.

You can still see a Chiropractor once and awhile but they are expensive, and you can try other alternative therapies.

You will work out what best meets your needs.

I saw a chiro, and it relieved the pain for a while, but it came back.
It's too expensive to keep going to the chiro, so I try to look after my body, and dont take on too much.
