Could I Have Fibromyalgia?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have had a lot of strange symptoms this doesn’t give me enough time to explain but I guess my question is can the pain differ . I don’t feel pain but I feel burning in my muscles as well as constant twitching and burning and pins and needle sensation on my skin as well as soreness in my rib cage ... any helpful answers??

Ive been afraid of MS and ALS, as well. Ive been looking for the same answers. I get nearly constant muscle twitching, a strange tingly/creepy crawly feeling all over, tightness almost like someone is squeezing me around my ribs and my calves. I guess fibro can mimick MS and ALS in some ways? Im still new to this and trying to navigate it. Its so uncomfortable.

Oh and yes anxiety will make it worse. You really need to see a rheumatologist. You won't be able to settle untill you know for sure and that will just make everything worse.
Under my eye twitches but others have it in other places to.

No I wasn’t scared because I had been diagnosed with Fibro, CFS(chronic fatigue syndrome) and ibs. You should see a Rheumotologist for diagnosis.. they seem to be the only that have some knowledge on Fibro. Usually diagnosed by trigger points and process of elimination to other diseases. Many chronic illnesses have same symptoms. Marianne instead of scaring yourself, I feel you should see a Doctor... self diagnosis Is just going to keep you scared, worried and overwhelmed. Not everything is always Fibro related.. some are.... I would see Rheumotologist, it will help to put you at ease, so you know how to proceed. Fibro is very complex because of varied symptoms, everyone’s is different.. but there’s many commonalities. I feel better when I keep moving, I can’t sit long.. others do better not moving so much etc. each is unique. And we have other health issues aside of Fibro. I hope you find some answers soon. We’re here for you, you’re not alone💜, Deb

Yes when I say pain it's not just like normal pain. Sometimes it can be a sting sometimes like you have heat rash. Other times an ache or it hurts if someone touches you or just brushes past. I have a slightly larger than average bra size 😳 and sometimes the weight of my chest feels like I'm dragging cannon balls around under my skin. Sometimes I feel like I can't wear jeans as anything more than leggings on my stomach feels like I'm pushing glass in to my skin. Sometimes like you been hit by a bus other times dancing in nettles. Sometimes and this can be quite scary like im having a heart attack. Thankfully sometimes like you are almost normal and maybe it's just in your head.....then it comes back and you realise your not crazy....wow when I start to think about it I'm a bit of a wreck. And that's without mentioning the ibs, brain fog, migraines, hangovers when I've not drunk. I'm going to shut up now.
