Members shared their personal experiences managing severe GERD alongside fibromyalgia, with many describing persistent belching, trapped chest gas, and heartburn that doesn't always respond to standard antacids. Several members offered practical strategies that have worked for them, including Gaviscon as a quick-relief barrier antacid, keeping a food diary to identify personal triggers, natural remedies like DGL tablets and baking soda mixed with water, elevating the head while sleeping, and staying hydrated throughout the day. A recurring theme was the trial-and-error journey of discovering individual food sensitivities and the importance of addressing root causes rather than just masking symptoms with medication.

Oh, and keep a food diary to see what triggers it. I have my trigger foods down pretty well, but sometimes a food that doesn't normally trigger Gerd in me will suddenly give me a bad case.

A natural approach is using DGL tablets (Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice Root).
