Doctor In Los Angeles

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭
Los Angeles, CA

Hey
I just moved to Los Angeles from Denmark and are looking to try some new treatment for my Fibromyalgia. In Denmark they don't know much about Fibromyalgia which is why I am excited to try new treatments in LA. Does anyone know a good doctor in Los Angeles who knows about fibromyalgia treatments? Maybe someone who has knowledge about LDN. Has anyone tried LDN and does it work?
Rebecca :)

Thank you so much for the answer! I like what I am hearing. I heard good things about LDN and want to try it while taking different supplements, maybe some cbd oil and then the normal good diet and exercise. Do you think an endocrinologist are more willing to prescribe LDN than example a primary care physician?

My endocrinologist suggested LDN and starts his patients with 1 mg. I tried it for 3 months and found that it definitely 'softened' my fibro flares. I had to stop for treatment for another problem and so plan on re-starting once that problem is resolved. He says his patients are having good results. As you delve into LDN, you'll find that it generates a healing process and isn't just a coverup. There's lots to learn!

Hi, Definitely try LDN as it can help some of us. Will not work on all our problems, but is worth giving it a try to see what it does for you. LDN - or Low Dose Naltrexone - or even ULDN - Ultra-Low Dose Naltrexone is a pharmaceutical that is compounded for you, so the cost is a bit steeper than a script from your Pharmacy. Look it up online on LDN Research, Dr Genevra Liptan (and her U-tube slots) and you will learn a lot more there than I can easily explain here. I have been taking ULDN (1.5mg or even lower - .05mg) off and on for many years now and have found that it softens or quietens the pain most times though not all, and does not seem to help a lot with a lot of the other symptoms of fibro, though I keep using it.

Thank you! Yeah exactly, because I am new to the area I don't have a doctor or anyone helping me with my fibro. Good idea with finding a doctor that's more open to alternative medicine. In Denmark it's impossible to get LDN so I am hoping to find some here. Thanks again for your answer :)
