Gastritis
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Anyone deal with this? Ok so last year I had a bad bout of it for like a month. It was awlful, endoscopy confirmed it. I was all better all year and now I think it’s back. Over the weekend I felt awlful. My symptoms include:
Constantly burping/ wet burps
Nausea
Reflux
Constipation
Runny nose/cough.
Anyone experience this and how long it lasts for you? This is day 3 for me.

Chronic GI is the worst!! It is also the seat of our immune system and mental health because of serotonin. Maybe everyone should get a fecal transplant! lol

I had it tested back in July, it was negative. But I’m going to my pcp and see if they will test it again. Thanks!

I have a hiatal hernia also. For many years no one could tell me why I had a pain in the middle of my back. Finally I learned from a friend that it was caused by the acid backing up in the esophagus, and causing irritation. It’s what leads to Barrett’s esophagus. Which could then lead to cancer. I used to take 40 mg of nexium. When my insurance would no longer cover the nexium, I found Zegerid. It is only 20 mg. It contains some baking soda, so it protects the omeprazole so it can work better. It is important to wait one hour after you take it before you eat anything. It works all day and night. No breakthrough. You have to have a bone density test to make sure your bones are ok. The problem with it is that it can stop your body from absorbing calcium, because with no acid, the calcium isn’t broken down. It’s is more expensive, but we’ll worth it. I usually get it from EBay. God luck.
