Scent Sensitivity
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am dealing with a scent sensitivity (as Im sure many of you are as well). People burning wood causes me to basically stay in my house. Walking past a person with scented products affects my breathing, my throat, nasal discharge, give me headaches and makes me nauseous.
Anyone discover any products that help? Like a lightweight facemask?

Ah scents are hard on us. My sister used to wear Premonition perfume and I would get very ill. It annoyed her that I would ask her not to put it on .
The ink of newspaper ugh
Thankgod we use iPhones now
Going to a wedding next August. Perfume city. Bring on the emergency puffer
Ps you may have asthma as I do but didn’t realize it!
Still learning about it!
There are different types!

There are so many things that negatively affect me - I can't list them all. I have problems with ink from the newspaper and magazines, most all of the fragrances that folks wear is an assault on my sinuses, head, lungs, nose, stomach. The list goes on. One problem is that the offending odors can be unknown to me until I am exposed and the exposure can happen so fast, it's too late and the rest of the day can be affected. Usually, I put a kleenex up to my nose and breathe into it. I have used the sterile saline nasal spray to try to get the smell out of my nose and sinuses. Keep vigilant!

I could have written this, I am physically sick from scent. To be blunt I would rather smell dog mess than perfume. Perfume seems to stick on my skin for days even just smelling it.

The smell of heat makes me feel sick, like when it comes out of the car’s vent or the hair dryer!
