Members shared overwhelmingly consistent advice for remembering to take medications daily, with the most popular strategies being setting alarms or reminders on a phone and using a weekly pill organizer box with compartments for morning and evening doses. Several members emphasized placing medications in visible, high-traffic areas like the bathroom sink or bedside table, with one noting the importance of keeping a daily log in their phone's notes app to prevent accidental overdoses, especially when managing pain medications during intense flare-ups. A recurring theme was the understanding that brain fog and chronic pain can distort memory and time, making external reminders essential rather than optional for safe and consistent medication management.

I use my phone to keep a daily log in “notes”. I have several meds I take and the fibromyalgia fog doesn’t help with the recall.
I take opioids and when the pain
is intense waiting for the medication to work distorts time.
According to my great pain management doctor, one of the main reasons people accidently overdose is that they don’t keep track of their medication.

Wow, so many of you use an alarm as a reminder. That is a great idea! I will buy a pill box!

I have alarms set on my phone for the different times of day I need to take meds. If I didn't I would never remember.
