Members connected over the challenges of finding affordable and effective alternative treatments for chronic pain, particularly when physical touch or pressure causes intense discomfort. Several members shared their experiences with chiropractic care, massage, physical therapy, and acupuncture, noting that while some found temporary relief or helpful tools like Biopods inserts, others could not tolerate certain treatments due to pain severity or spinal conditions visible on imaging. A recurring theme was the frustration of navigating high costs and insurance limitations, with members offering practical suggestions like using HSA accounts, requesting letters of medical necessity from doctors, and trying physical therapy as a gentler alternative when hands-on treatments are too painful.

Ive used acupuncture. It gives me temporary relief in my achilles heel. The relief doesnt last long for me though.

A chiropractor won't even touch my back. Not after seeing my MRI. But I did physical therapy for awhile and it really helped.

I would love to try acupuncture. My insurance won't pay for it. My doctor claims it is effective for fibro. I will never know. Too costly.
