I have not been diagnosed with fibromyalgia yet. I see a rheumatologist in a couple weeks and my doctor has mentioned fibromyalgia. Headaches and migraines can start with tension in you neck and shoulders or even your jaw. Clenching can then make the tension build in neck and shoulders as well. Also, get some magnesium. For migraine, headache, and fibro sufferers it is a commonly found to be low mineral depleted in our bodies. Get a powdered kind you can drink. Tastes like weird lemonade but once you gradually up the dosing it seems to help.
Does it start in your neck or your head? I used to think I just had migraines until I had a bunch of tests done. I found out I had arthritis in my neck (cervical spondylosis, and disk degeneration and a pinch nerve) causing cervicogenic headaches, leading to migraines as well. I also have arthritis in other joints.
I'm glad that you found changing your diet can help you feel better. I had migraines for many years. It seemed that after menopause my migraines came much less frequent and less intense. The foods that I found out that triggered my migraines were aged Foods like cheese or lunch meat. I'm not really a drinker but one night my neighbors came over with a bottle of red wine. After a glass my blood pressure shot up so high with migraine that I ended up in the hospital. It was then that I learned that this aged wine and other aged Foods trigger migraines. I hope you feel better soon!
Over the last three years of having fibro, I have had headaches for months at a time. I mean everyday for months. Couldn’t find anything wrong either in terms of brain wise. Fixed my diet a bit, and the headaches stopped.
