I was first diagnosed with fibro in 2006 following on from a 2 year period of Polymyalgia Rheumatica. Since being diagnosed, I have had my medication constantly under review due to the fluctuating nature of the pains and immobility difficulties. The pain can be totally unbearable on days, and I cannot function at all. On other days I am able to cope reasonably well and can work through the pains. Yes. I think it's from a combination of pain and medications. Both can cause memory problems.
It’s called fibro fog
i honestly not on any of that and i have short term memory loss so i i think it is from the fibromyalgia. but i have also read the meds do it to. it could be both.
I lost my memory when I was on heavier medications. I also developed a stammer where I knew what I wanted to say, but I couldn't get the words out. It was like my mouth refused to work. I also would lose my train of thought mid sentenance. In addition, I forgot how to spell words and forgot grammar. Mind you, I edited training journals and answered an infoline for an educational organization so writing and talking was something I did all day. After I was forced into retirement, I lost my medical insurance which messed up my medicine and I cold-turkeyed off amitriptyline, Savella, amitiza, Ambien, tizandidine and some others. It was hell, but I lost my stammer!! Slowly my memory improved some be too, but now I think old age plays a part. Spelling never came back, but grammar improved some.
Oh my.. I have taken some of the meds you are on. I had terrible memory loss especially with the amitriptyline.. I believe it is the meds. Im so sorry for what you are going through. Have you tried the CBD oil? It has helped me.
