Members shared a wide range of medications that have helped manage their stiffness and pain, including amitriptyline for sleep and some relief, gabapentin at doses ranging from 400mg to multiple daily doses, muscle relaxants like baclofen and methocarbamol, naproxen for inflammation, and tramadol for severe pain, though most acknowledged that no single solution eliminates all discomfort. Several members emphasized the importance of gentle movement and exercises like tai chi throughout the day to reduce stiffness, with one member noting that staying active without overdoing it has been more effective than medication alone. A recurring theme was the ongoing search for pain relief without severe side effects and the shared understanding that some level of pain and stiffness may simply be part of living with the condition.

Methocarbamol 6x a day if i need it(a muscle relaxer) gabapentin 3x a day, and Tramadol 4x a day if needed. Im not pain free, but it had dulled the severe pain most days

I have recently started Baclofen. It is a muscle relaxant. I am taking a low dose twice daily and it has helped with the stiffness. Although I am still hurting. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Naproxen has a huge list of side effects as all medications that we take have side effects.

The only thing that helps me with stiffness is so easy movement. I do slow exercises before I roll out of bed, then do tia chi mid day. As long as I don't over do it, moving throughout the day is the best way for me to not be stiff. I think it just comes with the territory. 😔
