Members enthusiastically affirmed that using splints, slings, and braces for pain and weakness is a common and practical strategy, with many keeping a variety of supports for different body parts to use as needed during flares or after overuse. Several members shared specific tools that help them manage, including wrist braces for typing or writing, tensor bandage gloves for hand pain, knee and ankle supports, Voltaren gel, electric blankets, and sports wraps for hypermobility. A recurring theme was the empowering mantra of doing whatever works for you, seeking medical attention for new or persistent pain, and finding comfort in knowing you are not alone in navigating fibromyalgia.

Use whatever helps with the pain. I have braces for my entire body that I wear when something flares up. After 30 years with fibro, I have found I do whatever works for me. If it's a new pain or lasts more than a few days, definitely get it checked out..

I will also wear like a tensor bandage glove on my hands when they get really bad! My arms and shoulders get really bad at times and I’d like to pull out my slings but having three shoulder surgeries already, I’m afraid they might tighten up by not using them so I avoid the slings! It is very painful I agree but I use Voltaren and an electric blanket for relief!!!
