Have You Successfully Lost Weight While Dealing With Fibromyalgia?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I’ve gained so much over 6 years since being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and I want to lose the weight to hopefully not have to keep buying bigger clothes. If you have lost weight, how did you do it? How long until you reached your goal?

i lost 20lbs then found 10 over the holidays ,, now im trying again because i have a big trip planned in june. i use an app on my phone and log all my food ,, the app i like is MyNetDiary but im sure there are any number of them out there. This app also has a scanner so i can scan bar codes of packaged food.. i weigh my food. I started with a comfortable number of calories for me 1,700 because i weigh 195. you should eat 100 calroies for every 10 lbs of weight ie. i want to weight 170 lbs (easy start) so i will eat 1700 calories ,, go easy on yourself ,, you'll have setbacks of course ,, but over time it all adds up

I have lost over 120 lbs. Hardest yet the best thing I have even done. It took 4 years to get it off and I have kept it off. Just recently I have begun to lose a few more pounds. First and foremost they diagnosed me with thyroid problems, supposedly part of this disease we all have. Then my neurologist put me on a No White, No Bread, No Fried, No Sweet Diet. No rice, potatoes, nothing fried, no soda's, no breads of any kind, no tortillla's, no desserts, no fruits, drink half your weight in water per day. I was 295 pounds got down to 175. Yes I had a cheat day every couple weeks. I had grilled chicken, grilled fish, lots of steamed veges, no butter, but I did use lemon juice squeezed on them, After I lost the first 50#, I started walking some, around the block when I felt up to it, not fast, just to get moving some.

I lost the weight BEFORE being diagnosed. I was in the greatest health, then dr. Changed my prescription, stopped my nerves and here I lay in pain. I do swim and walk. Was definitely until this latest cold snap. Feel totally immobilized.

I cheated. Not sure yet what’s causing it but I’ve been nauseated since September. Worst way to lose 30 pounds EVER

Thank you all. I do feel your pain. I was also in great shape before I got all these Fibromyalgia pains. What used to be a 4 times a week work out became twice a month or whenever I am able to because of the pain. I know I will have to eat better so I can lose even if I can hardly move sometimes. Good points from @SaraNuttalHol and @A MyFibroTeam Member.
