Metabolism
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone noticed a dip in their metabolism? I seem to be gaining weight for no reason. :(

Gabapentin is also known for making people more tired. Just something to be aware of.

Great answer Becky. I was just telling someone that lyrica made me gain 50 lbs.

I have always had a very slow metabolism. I have been on diet my entire life and struggled with eating disorders while still remaining obese. In university drs didnt take my anorexia and excessive exercise seriously because I still weighed over 150lbs, until I ended up hospitalized. Now I am constantly nauseous and I would be happy not eating at all due to my stomach issues, IBS, and food intolerances. But I force myself to eat healthy in an attempt to aid my fibro. And despite my very healthy diet, I am over 250lbs now. And I hate it. Yes I am on Lyrica, but I cant blame it on that because I was steadily gaining long before going on it. My TSH is always normal, but Ive always wondered if my poor metabolism and fibro was related.
