Best Way To Lose Weight
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hey everyone, I am at a point that I have to lose some weight. I have other health issues along with fibro and I’m wondering what is the best weight loss form that’s helped you. I tend to be very unmotivated and in pain so working out is never something I WANT to do. Yet, I want to lose weight, badly. I’ve been working on yoga and eating less. Has that helped anyone with some major weight loss? I know I need to up my motivation and mindset but sometimes it just seems so impossible. I want to… read more

Definitely get active. I know when i got my pup it got me motivated as well. Having to walk him 2-3 times a day was helpful. The walking made a BIG difference. If you can stick with the yoga, go for it. Also try Garcinia Cambogia, (I found it at the dollar store). It will help break down the fat in the body. I know it helped me, I lost 50lbs taking it. Good Luck!

Y'all aren't gonna believe this, but I lost 48 lbs in the last year after we got our puppy. I guess getting up and being more active with her. We play a lot! She has been such a angelic blessing! So I guess for me, just being more active was the answer! Gentle hugs to everyone.

I found my way to reduce my bursitis pain and lose 65 pounds, get off my diabetes medication (type 2, not insulin dependent) was walking. It was slow walking for 30 to 45 minutes per day at least 3 days per week, preferably 5 for pain reduction. The minutes mattered, not the speed. Too much speed courted flair. I also reduced my food intake, increasing lean protein and decreasing carbs. I am a vegetable fiend naturally, and I prefer them raw. I only eat what I like...quality matters. I have kept the weight off for 3 years this way. I notice increases in back pain as well as both hips when I skip walking due to “being busy” or “too much pain.” I simply shorten the time walking, make some...any effort...at movement. Then try again the next day. I found withholding sugar completely isn’t the perfect solution. I was surprised at that. A little dark chocolate or sweet treat makes my glucose meter happy. Who knew?

The CSIRO stuff looks good. I followed a simple lean protein low carb diet but it was no
miracle...took me 3 yrs to lose 45 lbs. I swam and walked for exercise. It wasn’t for anyone but me and my health. I think it my biggest reward was being able to stop
diabetes medication. Been off that for several years now and also manage my cholesterol without prescriptions. Success! Good luck to you!🍎❤️🍎❤️🍎❤️

Walking does help. I was in bad pain for about 3 weeks when I started. The more I can walk the better I feel.
