Members rallied around someone feeling self-conscious about using a walking stick while grocery shopping with two young children, offering both emotional encouragement and practical solutions. Several members suggested meal planning, shopping more frequently in smaller trips, using grocery delivery or curbside pickup services, and enlisting a partner to watch the kids or push the cart during shopping trips. A recurring theme was the importance of pacing yourself, taking breaks without guilt, and remembering that most people do not judge as harshly as we fear, with one member sharing they have used a cane since age fifteen without real issues.

I've used a cane off and on since I was 15. I've never had any issues with people staring or being rude. The only anyone even says anything is if I use it around someone who has never seen me with it before. Mostly because they fear I've injured myself in some normal way. I still feel weird using it sometimes but have to remind myself that no one notices or cares.

And next week do a supermarket delivery, leave the kids with their dad and go get your hair done. Xx

What i got as an advise was take a few more breaks. Set boundaries and live up to them. And make lists of what you have to get and everything extra is a bonus but get the essentials first. And have a bit of fun and let people talk they have nothing better to do than judge others.. Walk with pride, head held high and a smile on your face!

Sending you lots of love, confidence and energie!!

Cooking is where a crockpot comes in very handy. Or oven cooking comes in really handy as well. Put everything in a 13×9" pan and it'll be ready all at once. As far as shopping, I'd order it and have it delivered. Even though you pay a bit more, it helps keep your sanity and energy too.

Can your partner go shopping with you and look after your boys. Definitely pace yourself and have plenty of stops in between.
