Members responded with deep concern and urgency to someone experiencing temporary vision loss and severe temple pain, with the overwhelming consensus being to seek immediate medical attention through NHS 111 or the ER to rule out serious conditions like optic nerve inflammation, eye stroke, or other vision-threatening issues. Several members shared personal experiences with similar symptoms, including complex migraines that mimic strokes, optic nerve inflammation that required heavy prednisone treatment, and eye strokes that caused lasting vision problems, emphasizing how critical early intervention can be. A recurring theme was the community's gentle but firm encouragement to prioritize medical evaluation over the fear of being told it's nothing, balanced with practical home remedies like caffeine with allergy medication for migraines and tiger balm for temple pain once serious causes were ruled out.

Hi, that sounds scary. Without wanting to sound dramatic, losing sight for any amount of time (even if it comes back) is potentially very serious and should be checked out by your GP at the very least. I notice you're in the UK. There's been a few times in last 12 months where I've not been sure how serious something needs to be to attend A&E as it's often a 2 week wait to see my GP. So I've used the NHS 111 service which will assess you over the phone and give you the most appropriate advise. Really recommend you call that number. Please let us know how you get on.
