Is anyone taking trazadone? If so, how is it working for you? My PCP just sent a script for trazadone to my pharmacy this afternoon and I am hoping it helps me sleep.

Members shared mixed experiences with trazodone for sleep related to fibromyalgia, with some finding it helpful for years while others reported it stopped working over time or caused vivid, unsettling nightmares that led them to discontinue use. Several members described practical approaches that work for them, including combining trazodone with other sleep aids, taking lower or higher doses depending on stress levels, or switching to alternatives like melatonin, lavender oil, or muscle relaxers when side effects became too bothersome. A recurring theme was the trial-and-error nature of finding effective sleep solutions with fibromyalgia, with members encouraging each other to try trazodone while staying alert to potential side effects like next-day grogginess or unusual dreams.

I take a hundred and 50 mg of Trazodone and it really helps if I'm very upset it doesn't work as well but it really helps

I have been taking Trazadone for years. I take 2 pain meds, the Trazadone as well as 7.5 ,mg of Zoplicone and Canabis oil. Once I get to sleep I sleep fairly well. If I wake up I go back to sleep easily.

My husband and I both take it. It works well for us both. He doesn't dream ( or doesn't remember them if he does). I have weird dreams when I do not take it. We have been taking it do for 2 years now.

Hi Kelly, I was prescribed Trazadone for sleeping too. Yes I have tried it but I didn't like all the weird nightmares I had! Everytime I took one it happened so I stopped taking it. I told my PCP that I did and I just don't want it. I am trying Melatonin and Lavender essential oil. Sometimes I take one of my muscle relaxers before bed. At least most of the time I am getting 5-6 hrs of sleep, compared to a couple and no nightmares. Just wanted you to know my experience but it may be different for you. If you do try it remember if you have weird dreams that's the reason. Good luck hun!
