I am looking into different aids that can help when I am having a bad day. I have found different heating pads, massagers, grabbers. What do you reccommend? Can be anything from tools to mobility aids.
I use ice packs also. Stretching my body out randomly throughout the day helps me also.
I use a cane especially when I am going to be walking ant distant. I have on hand a walker. Also use the grippers. I am finding out when I sweep the floors I have a computer chair sit in it and wheel my self around to sweep and mop... my husband has to sweep the carpets as I can’t push the vacuum. I hope this helps you. I also have a portable potty, but I have to over my toilet.

Hi Emily
Medical supply stores sell all kinds of things for all kinds of issues. You can also check on Amazon. We have a store here called Relax the Back that has a variety of different items. Even Bed Bath and Beyond has kitchen tools that help make things easier.
I need help with my fingers and hands to grasp things, turn knobs, turn on lamps, open jars and bottles. And I bought one of those poles you see in clothing stores that reach clothes hangers that are very high in my closet. I can move large items around with sliders that go on the floor under a box or piece of furniture.
Depending on your needs there are a multitude of items you can check. If you have a physical therapist they can recommend specific items that will stretch out your muscles and limbs. That helps with trigger point pain. You might already know that there are different shaped pillows that support you muscles when you sleep.
Good luck finding all that you need to help you.
God bless
Judy
I just bought a DR. HO TENS MACHINE... i have used one before on and off, it does help in places i can stick it to. If only i had someone to sick it to me!!!
Be careful not to overuse, then it's like over exercising.... never a good thing with fibro!
Hi,
If your insurance pays for it you may be interested in getting an Occupational Therapy Evaluation. OT's are the professionals that deal with activities of daily living. They can suggest easier ways of doing things and they know about every gadget known to man. After finishing PT Assistant school, I discovered that OT''s have alot more fun. They actually come to you so they can see your living situations and make suggestions for anything from a $2 gadget to a renovation on your home or vehicle .
