Got a crazy question. Do any of you have an elevated heart rate when you move from a seated or lying down position to standing? Like your heart rate shoots up 20-30 beats just by standing? I have been having this the last several days to the point I thought I was having a heart attack. Then I realized it's when I'm standing. Lying down, I'm alright. It's bananas. I need some company and advice if any of you have this or have had it. It is so scary. God bless.

Members rallied around someone experiencing sudden heart palpitations and elevated heart rate upon standing, with many sharing that they too have dealt with similar symptoms, often linked to fibromyalgia, anxiety, low blood pressure, or blood sugar fluctuations. Several members described their own cardiac workups that revealed benign causes like supraventricular tachycardia or orthostatic hypotension, and practical strategies shared included staying hydrated, increasing salt intake, wearing compression socks, and monitoring blood pressure and blood sugar levels closely. A recurring theme was the importance of getting symptoms checked by a doctor to rule out serious causes while also finding comfort in knowing that palpitations, though frightening, are often manageable and shared by many in the community.

Recently I’ve been having palpitations more often. I used to get them often back in 2016/2017 and had a full cardiac work up. Stress test, echocardiogram, heart monitor. Heart was perfectly normal. Showed super ventricular tachycardia caused my anxiety. It went away and would happen every so often. I do get orthostatic hypotension and can feel when I get up or bend down. My blood pressure is on the low side usually 100/65. Just remember palpitations are mostly benign but it’s best to get it checked out regardless. I hate them, they catch me off guard and take my breath away. My pulse is usually normal as well.

So I'm noticing a link between my blood sugar and the palpitations. What exactly, I don't know. But I did have this crrrraaaazzzzy episode of hypoglycemia yesterday out of the blue. Thought I saw the white light! And my heart was going coocoo during it. I scarfed down snacks and juice cause I felt ravenously hungry, and with half an hour it was somewhat better. Do any of you have blood sugar problems?

I have this all the time (every single day) - it’s how I found out I had fibro. It’s still a really scary feeling because you just never know, but it’s actually the main and only symptom I have with this so far.
